Although some might consider the job of processing insurance claims to be tedious, the list of crazy claims recently released by AA Insurance indicates those filing might have a good source of entertainment after all. Last year, AA Insurance processed 180,000 claims. Among those were some strange events.
One of the claims filed last year describes a woman whose car was dented by a bull who crashed through a fence and into her vehicle. Another car was damaged by falling apples. The apples escaped a forklift truck and rained down upon one man’s vehicle.
In a similar case, a delivery lorry was carrying a load of supermarket trolleys which fell from the truck and onto the car of one unfortunate driver.
After spending the year sorting through the average insurance claims, Janet Pell, who head’s AA’s car insurance division, said that she found some of these claims “interesting.”
While the cost of insuring a car rose this year, bizarre events like those highlighted by AA indicate just how important such coverage really is.
"It just goes to show, you need to ensure you’re covered for all eventualities, however far-fetched they might seem," Pell concluded.
