BA brings online boarding passes to the Middle East

British Airways recently announced the use of Online Boarding Passes in several of its flights between Abu Dhabi International Airport and Heathrow.

BA currently has six routes and a total 49 flights per week between the Middle East and London. The airline recently introduced the use of Online Boarding Passes on five of these routes.

The five routes now using Online Boarding Passes include services from London, Heathrow to: Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Muscat and Abu Dhabi.

With the introduction of the Online Boarding Pass system, passengers are able to print their boarding passes at home, long before they set out for the airport. In addition to making the check-in lines at the airport move more quickly, it allows passengers with carry-on luggage only to bypass check-in completely and head directly for security. It also allows people to select their seat up to 24 hours before their flight leaves.

The Service Delivery Manager for BA's Middle Eastern operations, Amanda Ball, said, "Our customers are always at the core of our innovations and developments, and with the launch of the Online Boarding Pass across selected Middle East routes, we are making traveling from the region even easier."

In addition to printing boarding passes, passengers can use the 'Manage My Booking' section of the ba.com website to view their itinerary, print their electronic tickets and plan their travel.

Speaking about BA's online services, Ball added, "British Airways understands that customers want simple, easy to digest information tailored to their specific travel needs and we believe in ba.com and the 'Manage My Booking' facility. ba.com is a market-leading product offering simple and complete itinerary management for our customers."
