January's passengers have enabled EasyJet to forecast a 40%-50% increase in their annual profits, expected by September 2007.
The low cost airline, saw 2.57 million passengers travelling with EasyJet in January alone, which is an 11% rise on last year's figures.
As a result of this turnover, the airline has announced its intentions to capitalise on the popularity of travel to the Spanish island of Ibiza, by increasing the number of summer flights there.
In addtion, new routes will be made available this summer from Edinburgh to Madrid, Edinburgh to Palma and Newcastle to Minorca.
