For many people, getting Travel insurance for a holiday abroad is something they think of and never quite get around to, but experts in the industry say that taking out good travel insurance is one of the smartest things you can do before you travel.
Even small vacations, like a weekend abroad for a stag night or hen party need coverage, according to the public relations manager for Confetti, Carol Richardson. Any holiday which involves participation in lots of activities should be covered by insurance.
You never know when things are going to go wrong, unfortunately. And it's just not worth it these days, she said. "With the erratic weather that we're having and situations at airports across the world, it's well worth taking out insurance, just for peace of mind.
Ms. Richardson noted that brief pre-wedding holidays abroad are becoming increasingly popular with Britons, with Prague becoming one of the more favoured destinations.
Unfortunately, data from online travel insurance provider swiftcover.com suggests that Europe can be one of the most likely locations for a theft while travelling. Craig Staniland, the director of underwriting for swiftcover, suggests that travellers take out travel insurance, even for short vacations to Europe, to help cover themselves in the event of a theft.
