This morning, British Airways announced several changes to its policies in the future. Perhaps the most welcomed announcement was that the restrictions allowing passengers only one piece of carry-on luggage would soon be lifted. In addition, the airline also announced that it had successfully offset the increasing price of fuel.
Currently passengers flying through airports in the UK are only able to take one piece of hand luggage with them on board which has caused a large degree of discomfort and discontent with passengers across the country.
The restrictions have been blamed for increasing the number of delays in UK airports, particularly at the busiest airport in the country, Heathrow. But Chief Executive of BA, Willie Walsh, predicts that the hand luggage limit may be lifted before the holiday season begins.
"Good news for our customers will be the removal of restrictions on hand-baggage which we expect soon," he said.
Mr. Walsh had more good news as well. The airline increased the number of passengers flying in first-class and business class this year.
Unfortunately, the weak American dollar has caused the company to declare weaker profits than were previously predicted. Fuel this year was also the highest it has evener been with the company spending around £2 billion this year.
