Budget airline Wizz Air will continue its flights to Bourgas throughout the winter months. Flights from Luton Airport in London will depart for Bulgaria three times a week.
Wizz Air will be making the flights with an Airbus 320 capable of carrying 180 passengers.
Bourgas Airport recently welcomed its one-millionth passenger of the year. Increasing numbers of tourists have forced the airport to upgrade its facilities. Renovations and expansion projects are currently underway.
Bourgas is a popular resort city on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. The airport's busiest months are July and August and many carriers stop flying to the area during the winter.
Wizz Air was the first budget airline to begin operating in Bulgaria. Now no-frills carriers make up for about half of the aviation market in the country.
