New rail link proposed for Heathrow

Airport operator BAA is planning to construct a rail link between Heathrow Airport and Staines. The plan must first be approved by public consultation but if it does go ahead, the rail ink will enable passengers easy access to the National Rail network.

In addition to the plans to connect the airport to the city by rail, BAA also announced that the Heathrow Connect will begin a new direct service to Terminal 4 next year. Likely to begin operations in March, the system will connect all four of the airports terminals with London Paddington station.

Travelling to the airport by rail is not only environmentally friendly, it also saves a lot of stress for passengers on travel days. Leaving the car at home allows travellers to avoid negotiating traffic and airport parking.
