Flybe to advertise more environmental skies

Low cost carrier, Flybe, recently announced innovations which will allow passengers to get detailed environmental information about the airlines flights. The labeling scheme will be launched next month. Among the information which will be easily available to the airline's customers will be aircraft and flight performance. The airline says that this information will help passengers become better informed about the impact that their flight has on both the local and on the global environment.

With the decreasing costs of flights, many people have become concerned about the increasing impact of airplanes on the environment. Recently, the Institute of Public Policy Research has suggested that airlines introduce environmental warnings on flights, similar in style to health warnings on cigarettes. While Flybe has rejected this suggestion for the moment, the airline is taking steps to increase passenger awareness about aviation and the environment.
