The Minister of Transport for the Republic of Ireland, Noel Dempsey, recently unveiled a new bypass which is now open for travel.
The N2 Dublin/Derry bypass at Castleblayney cost a total of £78 million. Stretching out over 16 kilometres in County Monaghan, the road will help travellers cut an estimated 40 minutes off their travel time to Dublin.
In addition, the road will divert traffic from the town of Castleblayney and the nearby villages of Annyalla and Clontibret.
