A new product is on the market, offering travellers the chance to skip out on long airport security lines for as little as $99.95 per year. The Clear Card offers a fast pass for airport security, and an alternative, much faster, Clear designated security line.
With the Clear Card, travellers need to first enrol online. Then, they must visit a Clear enrolment station in person to set up their account. Customers must provide Clear with their fingerprints, photos and two examples of government issued identification. The photos and fingerprints help security to measure your unique biometric data and is complemented by pictures of the applicants irises.
At the moment, its not worth to going through all the trouble unless you do a lot of travelling through the few major airports where Clear is set up. In March last month, however, Clear already boasted 40,000 customers.
The Clear system is currently operational in the following airports:
- Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky (CVG)
- Indianapolis (IND)
- New York JFK Terminal 7 (JFK)
- Orlando (MCO)
- San Jos (SJC)
Although, it is expected to come soon to:
- Albany (ALB)
- Little Rock (LIT)
- Newark Terminal B (EWR)
- New York JFK Terminal 1 (JFK)
- New York JFK Terminal 4 (JFK), and
- Toronto (YYZ
